Backlit nightlights with a lithophane photo panel, designed in CAD and given away as gifts. I have made dozens since, customized for specific people.

Two things decided whether these worked. The foot angle sets how light
meets the panel (at the wrong angle the image washes out or goes dark at the edges), and infill density sets the weight balance, which is what
stops a tall thin object tipping off a nightstand. Both took more iterations than the photo panel itself.
I also designed a custom battery cover and case that keeps the power switch and batteries hidden from view while still making them easy to reach, so the light can be switched on and the batteries replaced without taking anything apart.
